Announcing the Twangfest 16 lineup

For the past few months the Twang Gang has been sweating and plotting, debating and negotiating, all in the effort to bring you the best possible lineup for this year’s event. And from June 6 to June 9, all of the wonderful acts that we’ve corralled into Twangfest 16 will be on stage in St. Louis for your enjoyment.

What we’ve put together represents, in our humble opinion, the absolute best roots, rock, country and folk being performed today. From the time-tested songwriting chops of John Doe to the old-time scuttle of Pokey LaFarge, from the fiery heartland folk rock of Ha Ha Tonka and Langhorne Slim to the sweet, soulful voice of Kelly Hogan.

Single night tickets are $15 for Wednesday and Thursday nights, $20 for Friday and Saturday. Single tickets will be available beginning Friday, March 30 at 5 p.m. CST. See the Tickets page for ticketing links and more info.

Four-night passes to Twangfest are available now. The four-night pass is part of a deluxe “Friends of Twangfest” package that includes an official t-shirt, poster and invitation to an exclusive house concert with John Doe on the afternoon of Saturday, June 9. This deluxe package is $125.

Twangfest SXSW 2012 Day Parties: Photos, Videos and Recaps

Holy tamales but we had a great time at Jovita’s in Austin this past week for our 13th annual SXSW day parties — as always presented by 88.1 KDHX. The weather was amazing, the fans were numerous (packed in elbow-to-elbow in fact) and the bands were outta sight.

It’s been a long winter, but we can feel spring drawing near. And that means the 88.1 KDHX and Twangfest SXSW Day Parties are on the way. It’s an annual tradition you do not want to miss.
