88.1 KDHX is proud to announce that the annual SXSW tradition of the Twangfest day parties lives on — in a bigger, better and twangier venue.
Mark your calendar and warm up your honky-tonk engines: The KDHX and Twangfest SXSW parties will be held March 14 and 16, 2013 at the legendary Broken Spoke in Austin, Texas. Parties run noon-5 p.m. each day.
Known as one of the great country music dance halls in the world, the Broken Spoke has hosted everyone from George Strait to Asleep at the Wheel, Bruce Robison to Dale Watson, Willie Nelson to the Derailers. It’s a big (600 person capacity), warm, historic and absolutely dance-friendly hall, with great home cooking and some of the coldest beer in town.
The Broken Spoke is located at 3201 S. Lamar Blvd. Austin, TX 78704.
Take an awesome virtual tour of the Spoke!
As always, the Twangfest SXSW parties are free and open to the public, with RSVP required. Just become a fan of Twangfest on Facebook and RSVP for one or both of the events, and you’re set. You may also RSVP by email, if you prefer. Each RSVP may bring up to three guests.
NOTE: RSVP does not guarantee admission. Venue capacity is 600, so if you want to be sure to get in to the parties, arrive early!
