On Wednesday, June 10, Twangfest 19 kicks off at Off Broadway, with a headlining performance by Cracker. Since forming in 1991, Cracker has become one of the most entertaining and unpredictable bands in American music. Also appearing on the opening night’s bill are venerated roots-rockers from Philadelphia Marah and local folk-rock heroes Grace Basement.
On Thursday, June 11, Twangfest is thrilled to welcome one of the true innovators of power-pop and rock music: Matthew Sweet. Joining Sweet is emerging Americana and rock songwriter Lilly Hiatt (daughter of the legendary John Hiatt) and local psychedelic-rock group Spectator.
For Friday, June 12, two headliners will take the stage at Off Broadway. For the first time in nearly a decade, beloved St. Louis band Nadine will reunite for a full set of soulful, twangy rock ‘n’ roll. Joining Nadine as a co-headliner, Lydia Loveless makes her Twangfest debut with a set of fierce and heartfelt rock with an undeniable country edge. Opening the show is the close-harmony country-folk group the Trio Project, from St. Louis
For the grand finale of Twangfest 19 on Saturday, June 13, the Bottle Rockets will storm the stage as only the Bottle Rockets can. The hometown favorites will be previewing, for the first time anywhere, the full-range of songs from their forthcoming Bloodshot album, due out later in 2015. Joining the Bottle Rockets is very special guest (and longtime Bottle Rockets collaborator) Eric Ambel and blues-n-roots hero Jimbo Mathus.
Single-night tickets are now on sale through Ticketfly. A limited number of four-night “Friends of Twangfest” passes are available now. The package includes guaranteed access to all four nights of Twangfest, an official t-shirt, poster, an invitation to an opening reception with members of Cracker at Off Broadway, and a ticket to an exclusive house concert with the Bottle Rockets and Eric Ambel on the afternoon of Saturday, June 13. The deluxe package is $125, with a VIP reserved balcony-seating package available for $150.
While previously presented by KDHX in St. Louis, Twangfest is now a fully independent, self-operated, non-profit organization. Twangfest thanks KDHX for its many years of support and is looking forward to growing and reaching new audiences for many years to come.
Twangfest thanks its sponsors: Rebel Yell Bourbon, New Belgium, Euclid Records and Gravity Strings.
