Twang Gang


Twangfest is put on by a group of passionate volunteers. Many are pictured here, left to right:

John Wendland: retired and an avid traveler, John has his finger on the pulse of new acts in the Americana and roots genres; he can be found performing with Rough Shop and the Baja Boys.

Jenny Heim: owner of Heim Consulting, Jenny provides invaluable support for our messaging and makes sure our merch is top-notch as well as proving a friendly face at Saturday Sessions.

Rick Wood: is an architectural model maker and passionate music fan, hosting artists in his home for decades.

Caron House: is a grant writer for the United Way by day and fundraiser for Twangfest as a volunteer; she enjoys getting out to shows whenever possible.

Dana Plonka (Twang Gang Emeritus): has a strong background in finance and auditing, currently serving as Vice President of Risk and Strategic Finance for Alter Trading Company; for years, she ensured that the merch table ran smoothly and the bands were happy with their sales.

Roy Kasten (Twang Gang Emeritus): is a Professor at Washington University; he is a founding member of the Twang Gang and for 25 years, ensured that Twangfest was a “can’t miss” event.

Scott Schwartz: is an architectural engineer for Bayer and member of the group Prairie Rehab where he slays on steel guitar and pedal steel; he works closely with each band to ensure they have what they need to put on their best Twangfest performance.

Andrew Scavotto: is a Partner and litigator at Stinson; over the past couple of seasons, he has taken on booking for Saturday Sessions at the Tower Grove Farmers’ Market, ensuring that we have an eclectic and diverse mix of performers representing the many types of American and roots music that audiences enjoy.

Jake Rosenfeld (not pictured): is the newest member of the Twang Gang; Jake is a professor at Wash U and a stalwart music enthusiast.
